What we make

YARNVIK makes a small range of textiles for the soft corners of a home: cushion covers, light throws, bed runners and fabric storage. The name joins two things we like: yarn, the thread everything starts with, and vik, the Nordic word for a small, sheltered bay. A quiet place to stop for a while.

We think small pieces of fabric change a room more than people expect. A cover with a raised rib, a throw left over the arm of a chair, a runner across the end of the bed: they make a space feel used, warm and yours. That is what we design for.

How we design

One texture per piece. Most of our designs are a single colour. What changes is the surface: ribs, loops, pintucks, gauze, waffle, quilting, canvas. Texture catches the light differently through the day, and it is what your hand notices first.

Families that work together. Many designs come as a cushion cover, a throw and a runner that share the same weave (look for the same first name: Tide, Ebb, Swell, Dune). You can build a room slowly, one piece at a time.

Honest details. Every product page gives the exact size in centimetres and inches, the fibre, how to wash it and what is in the parcel. Cushion covers are sold without inserts, and we say so. Where a price covers a set, the title says how many pieces.

Made to be washed. Textiles you are afraid to use are not much good. We choose cottons and linens that go in the washing machine, and we give the care instructions for each piece rather than a general rule.
